German Power Metallers Primal Fear have announced that they have been forced to pull out of their upcoming performance at the Alcatraz Festival in Belgium which had been schedule for Sunday (July 27th) following an festival organisers being unable to "pay our fee".
The band commented "We've been just informed by the local promoter of the Acatraz Festival
in Belgium, that they can't pay our fee at the concert on Sunday in
Deinze/Brielpoort. Sorry for our fans in Belgium, but this is a tough
information 3 days prior to the show. Welcome to the music business!
We're looking forward to having a great time at the Infernofest in Slovakia on Saturday with a 100% Primal Fear show!"
The festivals organisers confirmed the decision in their own announcement blaming poor ticket pre-sales for the cut back.
"Unfortunately we are forced to pull out Primal Fear from the lineup
for the upcoming festival next Sunday. Due to the minor pre-sales we
have to cancel their show reg. our financial situation! Herewith we
would like to inform everyone that the management nor the band has
anything to do with our decision. We also would like to apologize to
the band for this modification and hope to make it up one day. We are
very sorry for the fans that would attend the festival for Primal Fear
and hope they understand our situation."
