neonneon.jpgNeon Neon are fuelling up, wiping down their windshields and preparing to hit the highway for a convoy of new UK live dates.  The shows are a chance to catch Gruff Rhys, Boom Bip and band performing songs from their highly ambitious, electro-pop concept album, Stainless Style.

The record is wholly inspired by the ultra colourful life of ballsy-businessman and automotive maverick John DeLorean, a man who lived the American dream to the edge and beyond throughout the 70s and 80s.

The newly added dates follow Neon Neon’s international summer live shows which included festival fun at Glastonbury and Wireless, and a storming tour de force gig at London’s Cargo where Gruff and Boom Bip arrived in their muse’s very own enduring creation – the iconic stainless steel DeLorean car, as immortalized in Back To The Future.

Neon Neon’s Stainless Style – released in March through Lex Records – recently received one of the most coveted and credible accolades in music when it was named as one of the Mercury Music Prize judges ‘Albums Of The Year’.  In addition to Gruff Rhys and Boom Bip, the albums also features contributions from notable names, including; The Magic Numbers, Spank Rock, Har Mar Superstar, Cate Le Bon, Fatlip, Yo Majesty and Fab Moretti from The Strokes.

The bands full schedule shapes up as follows:

Wed 29 Oct - Koko - London
Sat 1 Nov - Brudenell Social Club - Leeds
Fri 7 Nov - The Sage 2 - Gateshead
Sun 9 Nov - Ruby Lounge - Manchester
Mon 10 Nov - Glee Club - Birmingham
