It's so sparse in Bar Monsta that, even after a 20 minute delay in the nights events kicking off, when Swedens Panzer Princess hit the stage their can't be more than about 25 people in the venue, and as the opening sleaze tinged punk riffs resonate around the room you just get the feeling that this is probably as busy as it's going to get on this Sunday Evening.

It's with the swagger of Hanoi Rocks and Mike Monroe that Panzer Princess set out their stall, harmonica in hand, they try to get some atmosphere into the crowd. The songs come across well, even if the language barrier really seems to hinder them with the interactions they do try with the crowd, and obviously no doubt something that will improve with time.

Innocent Rosie however were a completely different story however, and as they burst onto the stage, it's almost as though these Swedes are the natural successors to the sound the Quireboys were cultivating years ago, and certainly these boys have the stage presence and attitude that it's hard to see anthing but big things in the future for them. The crowd had swelled a little, but it may as well have been full as the band owned the room from the minute the first guitar chord was struck.

If they hadn't been tied by leads, you just know that by the end of the set you'd have had a guitarist on the bar, the singer stood on a table at the back of the room, and they'd be rocking like fuck. Huge highlights of the set had to be the storming Innocent Rosie and superb cover of Billy Idol's Rebel Yell.

I've said before that no matter how good a band may appear, you find out their true credentials when they play in front of just a handfull of people, and tonight Innocent Rosie aced the test. Right now I can't wait to get my hands on a CD, which unfortunately they did not have at the show.

It's a shame to see, that with a venue so quiet people were starting to drift off even before Nice 'N' Sleazy hit the stage. It was one of those times when fans should support the bands more, and stick it out till the end. Innocent Rosie had reved the room up, but by the time Nice 'N' Sleazy hit they practically had to start from scratch, and unfortunately it wasn't until the end of the set that they really managed to get it back.

You can't doubt that these boys have the sleazy sound that could put them right up there with Faster Pussycat of old, but tonight the stage seemed so static, and perhaps that had a lot to do with how Innocent Rosie had owned it earlier, and of course to the fact that the venue was almost empty, but nevertheless..,

The venue suddenly burst into life right at the death as they hit up a huge cover of Pretty Vacant, and closed out the night with a superb cover of Bathroom Wall, joined from the crowd by the Singer of Innocent Voices impromptu for chorus duties, and it was Bathroom Wall that saw everyone leave on a high.

Nice 'N' Sleazy are good, and tonight's performance just didn't seem to them justice, and I hope they'll be back across the Irish Sea again in the not too distant future, playing somewhere else to more people, and on Innocent Rosie, I can't wait till they decide to make the trip back to the UK.
