It'a hot... no hotter... hotter still... ok now we're getting there. That's about how hot it is in the Borderline tonight when Die So Fluid hit the stage. The summer has finally come alive, and that night when we all wish, as drummer Al Fletcher commented half way through the set, when we should be outside in a beer garden drinking a cold one, we're sweltering inside.
It could be worse though right? In fact the only one in the building that seems to be immune to the heat is the one person that should be dying, covered shoulder to toe in a rubber cat suit, Grog looks like she's as cool as ice.
Die So Fluid have gone from strength to strength over the last nine months or so, and taking to the stage tonight, the band are delighted to be back playing for their home town fans, and fans that are slowly growing in number. They've hit the road with My Ruin, Grog got electrocuted while touring with Il Nino, and through it all, they have become a tight, hard rocking unit, and that's what hits the stage tonight, regardless of the heat, they're here to party with the faithful, and nothings going to get in the way.
That's what always impresses with Die So Fluid, they work incredibly hard, they're a band forged together through hardship and highs together, and they really care, they won't leave a stone unturned when it comes to making every gig a night to remember for everyone in the building. With the band still promoting their latest album it's hardly a surprise that tonights set, like all of their performances this year draws heavily from 'Not Everyone Gets A Happy Ending', and with the band heading out to the States in the near future everyone seems to want to make the most out of tonight.
Did I mention how hot it was?
To paraphrase Manowar... "other bands rock, Die So Fluid try to kill you".
I'll take that one to the bank.
