What can be said about Alice Cooper that hasn't already been said? The man is a living legend, he knows what his fans want, and he knows how to give it to them to keep them coming back year after year.

There aren't many times when your going to see Joan Jett opening a concert, but tonight, as the tour stopped off in Bournemouth, she kicked the proceedings off in style. It's really a shame that 95% of the audience were waiting for 1 song, which of course was delivered with style, and huge chanting, but Joan Jett is so much more than 'I Love Rock N Roll'.Where 95% didn't know more than the one Joan Jett song, it's safe to say that 95% of the crowd couldn't understand a single thing Lemmy said or sang when Motorhead hit the stage. It was a shame to see another legend of the rock world performing so badly, and when you have hardcore Motorhead fans sat in the bar complaining you know something has gone terribly wrong.

But that said, from the moment Cooper's intro music hit the arena, any previous doubts were banished from mind. Stalking the stage like a rabid ringmaster, he kept the audience wrapped around his finger from start to finish. With interludes from various stage performers, he screamed through his back catalogue, playing Under My Wheels, Dead Babies, No More Mr Nice Guy, Eighteen, and pretty much all of the hits you would expect of Cooper, including a generous helping from his last effort 'Dirty Diamonds'.

The audience are enthralled by the time we come to the hanging, which has returned to his stage show once again. Follow that up with the big guns, Poison and I Wanna Be Elected, and you have fans who would have gone all night.

With such a large back catalogue as Cooper has, there's always going to fans feeling they've missed out on some of their favourite tracks, mine would have been 'Freedom' from the Raise Your Fist and Yell album, and there really is nothing he can do about that, but what he does do, is depart the stage having entertained every single person in attendance for almost an hour and a half.

It's said that nobody does it quite like Alice Cooper, and that's not too far from the truth.
