Skeletons

Wednesday 13 has described his new album 'Skeletons' as being very personal. So what does that actually mean to us the listeners? Well, lets not beat around the bush here, this is just what you are going to expect from the ex Drag Queen and Murderdoll.

Horror tinged rock n roll, whatever you want to call it. Don't expect to fire up this disc and find that Wednesday has come out with something completely new, he hasn't, but then would we really want him to? We want our 13 to give us songs about murder, death, trash, and all the good dark things in life right?

We want songs like 'All American Massacre' which really lays everything out on the line. No lyrical masterpiece, but fun. Oooo did I just use the word fun? I did didn't I? Are we allowed to have fun these days with music? Wednesday 13 seems to think that we are. With lyrics like 'The family that slays together, stays together' show us the way forward.

Special mention does have to go to the albums title track though. 'Skeletons' for everything already written here does actually almost break the mould. It does come across as a more personal out pouring, and it is by far the albums highlight. Maybe it's the slower pace of the song, maybe it's the fact that it's not dripping with hammer horror cliches, maybe it just is.

Skeleton's is just what Wednesday 13 fans are going to expect and are going to want. And with the title track, that probably pushes this right up there with some of his best work since he disbanded the Drag Queens.
