As for a debut album, the Swedish band Union Mac really surprised me.
This sounds very much like a 80's band that have found their way back,
a "band to be counted with". A 13 track very well produced album with
well written lyrics that are giving me a very good feeling, and the
music is simply just great.
At the same time I get the feeling of listening to something very
much influenced by music from the 80's I can hear that Union Mac
is trying to find and deliver a unique sound, and in many ways I must
say that they succeed with that.
I also find IMO a band that is sounding very happy, the track
'I can't believe' is a good example of showing just that.
'Fading' a very good ballad, nice clear guitars.
Album ends with 'The wale' which is an instrumental track, a very good
track as well. I normally don't like instrumental tracks but this one
I played 3 times while writing this review.
So who are these guys?
Mikael Klevengård and Kristoffer Lagerström, two Swedes who met
for the first time in a mutual project called "Mixture" which was
a production group created for writing, producing and placing
songs in different events. Soon they started to write songs with an
eighties touch just for fun but one song led to another and before
they knew it the album was a fact.
So what do they sound like?
Well after I have heard the album a few times, I can hear some traces of
Whitesnake and Europe. A little Saga maybe if you listen to the tracks
'I can't believe' and 'I am'.
Wonder if they have listen to any Journey and Survivor as well?

All in all, a very good album.
Union Mac is definitely a band to count with in the future.
I am looking forward to hear them live if I get the chance.
