Editor review
People take notice when Daniele Liverani works on a project, his 3 album rock opera Genius released it's final episode this year, and as the founder and writer for Twinspirits, expectations could be said to be high.
As far as I'm concerned Progressive Metal is a genre that so many bands attempt to do well, and most end up sounding just like Dream Theater, or worse still, a band trying to sound like Dream Theater. Thankfully this is not the case here, Twinspirits want to sound like themselves and nobody else, and that's no bad thing at all, afterall with 6 of the albums tracks clocking in at over 7 minutes and two of those cruising past the 10 minute mark, it could have been horrible. Ironically of course, bassists Alberto Rigoni who plays bass with Dream Theater tribute band Ascra.
What you get here is an incredibly easy and accessible album that hasn't sacrificed quality to achieve it. There are moments like with 'What You Want', the band exude a wonderfull Pink Floyd side to themselves, proving that while the driving drums are there on other tracks they have a softer side, and more importantly that vocalist Soren Adamsen can admirably cope with a changing tempo without missing a beat, which is so important. It's hard to be bombarded with 70+ minutes without losing the plot.
'The Music That Will Heal The World' is a great debut, and if the band stay together, I'm certainly going to be eagerly anticipating what they come out with next.
