I met these guys at Hard Rock Hell and they were completely crazy!!!!!! All black and red, spiked Punk look, and one guy had a busted leg. And they were talking about climbing on roofs!

Then they apparently played a blinding set (which I missed). So I expected something pretty harsh in the first CD offering, and I do like a bit of melody, so listened with trepidation……

Addict is a complete surprise, a gem of a track, and despite their crazy attitude and appearance proves this band are much, much more than they seem: a bunch of lunatics from Nottingham. Zero is the vocal guy, but also covers lead guitar and keyboards. He is a great talent, as the gorgeous melodic layering around punchy riffs can testify. The harmonious backing vocals and gorgeously meaty bass are provided by Johnny Bondage, and they swell the sound from a simple song into an anthem. Drums by Danny B hold all the other elements into a perfect structure.

This is a Rock song, not Punk or Hardcore; in fact, nothing like folk might expect when they look at this band. Proper rock ‘n’ roll, played with skill and style, with a slightly sleazy edge and enough balls to fill a dance floor. What a complete discovery they are. They play live constantly and have a fully serviced and informative page on MySpace. If I’m not mistaken, stardom beckons with the first album, if this fabulous offering is anything to go by.
