The Scarlet Street Resistance - Nasty Thoughts
Brighton based 'The Scarlet Street Resistance' will release their Nasty Thoughts CD single
on Monday May 12th through The Big Room Co.
This is their first single for their upcomming album The Big Steal
which is expected to be released later this year.
The single is a two track CD single with only the track Nasty Thoughts but
according to their Myspace site there will be another track on the singles "B-side"
with the title Waiting For God.
What to expect?
Experimental, Electro based music mixed with some folk piano. Add some polished style beats and
fat synths and you'll have the music.
Mr Jones narrative vocals and (ex Keys player for UK brit rockers Bush) Sacha Puttnam added to
the mix and you'll have the vocals added as well.
Production handled by electro genius DJ Tim Healey (Shiny toy Guns, Ministry of Sound, Coburn).
Story line:
The album, ‘The Big Steal’ tells the story of our femme fatale 'Scarlet' whose split
personality gets her into lots of trouble...
I am gonna stop here with the story line, leave it for the full album review later this year
(if promo or full version will be sent to us).
This is sounding very good but based on one single track it makes it a bit hard to give
a fair scoring, I would like to hear more.
Now this is not my normal music I listen to, but I'd like to hear the full album and give it a
proper listening and write a review of it. As for info on the album found elsewhere, it
looks like we're looking forward to a concept album with 19 tracks and with narrative story
telling parts from Mr Jones, and beatiful vocals performed by Sacha Puttnam.
Keep your eyes open for more info closer to release day.
where you will find the track Nasty Thoughts as well as the to-be-added to CD single,
B-side track Waiting For God, plus two demo tracks from the full length album.
Enjoy!
