Hamburg's Gender Transcending Glam rock n rollers The Pleasures new EP picks up where the band left off with their debut album Greatest Hits, and acts as a nice preview to the upcoming sophomore release 'Oh Yeah'.

Forget the image, forget the hype, what we really care about is the substance and the quality. Do The Pleasures have it? Are they more than just a hyped up shock rock band? Of course thankfully the answer is yes. Taking the best of 70's influenced glam rock, they show yet again that they have the talent to make things happen.

Opening with the storming Some Like It Rock, a raucous heavily 70's cut, but following it up with the much more hard rock esque Skull Hammer, which to my mind is the pick of the three on the EP. It has the beat behind it to make it a potential hit on rock club dance floors, a great chorus, and stomping attitude. It's pretty damn good.

We can't forget a mention to the final track on the EP, the track that perhaps defines this band... they just had to have a track called Gender Bender right? As to whether I can ever listen to it and not think of Bender from Futurama in a pin tutu I don't know!
