So The Crucible - which just so happens to be the title of one of my favourite plays by Arthur Miller about the Witch Trials in Salem, but I digress - launch back onto the recorded music scene with a new single in the shape of Beyond Driven.
A band that are apparently "hard rock without the rough edge" which I'm not entirely sure is a compliment, but bravely into the breach once more old friends we fire it up, and I want to like this single, I really do.
It has some nice guitar parts on it as well, especially towards the end of the title track.
Unfortunately, that's really about as good as it gets for these guys. They seem vocally confused, not really knowing what kind of music they're making, the singer seems to want to be in Alice In Chains and Pink Floyd at the same time, on the same stage... it just doesn't work.
But yeah, the guitar work is quite nice, and just for the record, what the hell is a radio h'edit?
