Title

The Formation Of Damnation

With huge drums that jump out of the speakers at you and guitars that soar in harmonious annunciation - like the hailing of an approaching satanic demi-god, 'For The Glory Of' is a perfect appetiser for this veritable kings banquet of metal.

'More Than Meets The Eye' hits hard and is a perfect way to sum up this album cover - one of the best I have seen lately. A great example of "If the cover's that good...it MUST rock".

And rock it does....

The guitar harmonies, riffs and solos from Eric Peterson and Alex Skolnick are simply outstanding, while Paul Bostaph drums like he is trying to beat your ears up. Greg Christian plays a mean bass and Chuck Billy's vocals are perfect for this kind of album - sounding harsly aggressive and with a necessary touch of evil to his tone, but without ever becoming tiresome or unintelligible.

The title track is as heavy as an overweight dinosaur and as a whole 'The Formation Of Damnation' is littered with so many amazing highlights that it is impossible to single them out from eachother. This is molten-hot thrash metal at it's brain crushing best.

With excellent production by Andy Sneap, intelligent song writing and superb musicianship, this album may just be the heavy metal record of the year so far. As a return to glory for their classic line-up, it is nothing less than a modern day tour-de-force.

"It's of our time right now", concludes Peterson. "The world we live in is rife with aggravation, politics is forever more about money rather than doing what's right, we all keep taking from mother Earth...human beings are basically done! We're setting ourselves up big-time for damnation, and that's what these songs talk about, from love to politics to holy wars, it's all there, it's all written about".

Sammy Hagar once sang "The beast is ready to devour all the metal it can hold" (Calling Heavy Metal) and 'The Formation Of Damnation' more than satisfied my appetite. The equal of any classic Metallica or Megadeath, this album will have you punching the air and kicking the living shit out of your mates at every moshing opportunity. Played at insane volumes, this record could snap necks at a thousand paces.

Guaranteed to sell out fast. Be warned!
