Packed full of pop fueled rock and roll, Nottingham's Teenage Casket Company's 'Eat Your Heart Out' EP shows a band who are comfortable with themselves, and with what they do.
The songs on the EP are bouncy in the way that Bowling For Soup are, and while not being as punky as Bowling For Soup you can almost hear that Teenage Casket Company are following a similar line. The songs are good, and you get your sing along choruses, but all in all it brings nothing remarkable to the table, instead sits firmly in the “It's ok, and certainly not bad” pile.
Motley Crue it's not, and the passion that bands like the Crue bring just doesn't come across to me here. There's nothing wrong with it, and a lot of people will love this EP, I just wish they had been able to rock a little more and pop a little less.
