For those not in the know, Sinner dates back to 1982, and is a much more balls to the wall rock band than the power metal leanings of Primal Fear, taking a fair amount of bluesy rock influences, but heavy, and powerful just ummm... not power metal.
Yep, that about sums up the band. So what have we got here on the bands latest opus that is 'Crash & Burn'. Sinner himself (the man not the band) has a gruff voice, that gives the songs presented here a gritty edge not too dissimilar to the kind of thing people expect from the likes of AC/DC, and that's not the only comparison you might like to extend to the Australian rock legends and Sinner. Thankfully though, you're not going to look at another carbon copy in the style of Airbourne.
The bands first single off the album 'Revolution' is certainly one the albums best efforts as well, offering more of that AC/DC influence, mixing it with the kind of sleazy bluesy guitar sound that has a more southern American influence... hell you can almost imagine this being recorded down south, with a four pack happily disappearing at a fast rate of knots.
At that really is what makes the album the joy it is - Sinners vocals are nice, but not the highlight - it's the raunchy, dirty guitar sound that Christof Leim and Henry Wolter kick out at ya. That's the key, that's the door, and that's what is gonna set this album apart from so many other bands that do the dirty rock n roll schtick.
