Shadowside- Theatre of Shadows

Think Skid Row with a Power Metal twist - then think female vocals with all Sebastian Bach's power. Interested? You sure will be!They hail from Brazil, risen from the ashes of Crystal Mirror. Shadowside emerged in the year 2001, when vocalist Dani Nolden gathered a bunch of musicians and just started recording and playing live. We all know that some great music has come out of Brazil, but this totally blew me away. The overall sound is similar to middle-era Skid Row, and the soaring vocal carries the growls of Bach, but also similar range and tone, coupled with a frequent roar that would not be out of place in a band such as Helloween!
I thought it was a guy singing. I honestly did. The sound this woman makes is amazing! The rest of the band are not just capable, but tight as, since the guitars switch from melody to meat in a heartbeat, and double bass drumming with powerful bass guitar grooves ensure that the whole product never wavers. They look good and sound great on CD, so next we need to see them tour Europe and sample the live experience
This band have supported Primal Fear and Nightwish in recent times, which is no surprise. Without a doubt they are one of the more promising new melodic metal bands around today.
