Right out of the box you will notice that Minnikin have something. The opening track to their promo album 'Europa' (named after Jupiter's moon) has a nice solo and a space craft like beginning which immediately draws comparisons with Def Leppard. Standout track is 'Down On Me' a slow burning classic with a touch of the Satriani's about it's solo, this brilliantly constructed song must be a live showstopper ! 'Back Again' has a beautiful atmospheric opening which shows that the guys can add some dimension to their sound, with all of the band being extremely competent musicians.

But it's the three punch combination that will leave you FLOORED...

'Old Pages' has an immediate likeability and lets Dockaz show off some great high range. Both excellently written and performed this song could be at home on many a film soundtrack. 'Secret' lets Mark show off more licks and has a nice bass guitar break before the band rip it up on 'Adrenaline' - truly an outstanding piece of rock music that has something very Sammy Hagar / Montrose about the verses. An addictive track that simply oozes good times and will have radio dj's telling drivers to slow down after it gets airplay.

I'm sure that the guitar playing will have caught your attention. Now when I tell you that lead guitarist Mark was born without a left forearm - listen to it again!

Sounding every bit ready to stake their claim, the dedicated attitude of this band is just further reflected by the excellent self produced press pack they sent me. With a cover yet to be finalised, the picture used is a promo shot of the band and as such the cover score reflects the quality of the press pack.
