Editor review

Have you heard about Evidence One yet? If not, with the release of their new album on June 25th, 'The Sky Is the Limit'. Cheesy I know, but then, in this particular case it might actually be true. Evidence One have all the tools to make the leap to superstars, the songs are huge, the sound awesome, and with 'The Sky Is The Limit' they might have the album that makes them household names.

Evidence One mastermind, and guitarist on the previous two albums, Robby Boebel takes a step sidewise here, giving up the guitar and taking up the mixing desk. Producing the album, and writting the songs, taking him away from the mere playing, "to produce the sound Evidence One now crave". And that's one thing they really do seem to have achieved. The sound is bigger, badder, while staying in touch with their roots.

Boebel's guitar mantle has been picked up by Jorg "Warthy" Warthmann, and he delivers in style, perhaps even showing that Boebel is better for the band with the sideways move. The band flirt with styles throughout, a little Bonfire on the albums title track, and perhaps most tellingly, on Mr Madness, the band play with an almost Motley Crue sound, an illusion lost perhaps only by the lack of the high pitched squeal of Vince Neil, while Rami Ali on drums certainly plays the skins hard and fast ala Tommy Lee.

The Hard Rock Superstar sound hits home hard again on 'Mindmines', perhaps another Motley Crue link here, although this time more 'Sick Love Song' esque than Kickstart.

The album cover shows 3 cards to represent the previous two, and now this, the third and really perhaps the best that Evidence One have produced. Add the three dice, and you've got a representation of the 5 players and Boebel in the background.

After 'Tattooed Heart' Evidence One Toured with Alice Cooper and Krokus, perhaps in 2007 they'll be ready to step up a gear and be headlining a big tour of their own?
