I was really enjoying this, the debut EP from Spanish sleazemeisters Electric Wasted. The four track is full of backstreet, down in the gutter, dirty sleazy goodness.

The band are aspiring to be the "reference of a new generation", and while that's certainly a long way off, listening to the early tracks here on this EP it could be potentially possible, but as we all know it takes more than balls and statements to make them true.

There's certainly a heavy feel of Guns N' Roses here (and more on that in a minute), both in the pace and sound of the band, but it's not too boldly a rip, so that's ok. I'm not really sure why the band are saying the singer sounds like Sebastian Back, it's pretty blatant he's trying to sound like Axl Rose...

Everything unravels a bit on the second half of the record though...

The production and sound of 'Hot Skin' sound nothing akin to the previous two tracks, the crispness is gone, everything almost sounds muggy, while vocalist Dani Midnite seems to be singing through a blocked nose or something!

Yet still things were ok... then we come to the cover of 'It's So Easy'... With the obvious influences on display here it's probably no surprise that they did a GNR song... it's just very average at best. Electric Wasted are trying so hard to do sound like Guns on it, it just fails... Oh well!

That said, there's certainly some potential here, so keep an eye out on these guys, and we'll see what happens... just drop the cover!
