Please welcome to the stage for the first time Eden's Curse, and this is no one night stand.

In case that wasn't clue enough, this is a superb debut effort, deeply routed in the melodic hard rock, that it should come as no surprise that Evidence One's Carsten Schulz was on hand to join vocalist Michael Eden and Bassist Paul Logue (of Cry Havoc) in writing the majority of the tracks on the album, including a nice treat for you Evidence One fans out there, as the track "Eyes of the World" had originally been written by Schulz and Robby Boebel for the recent Evidence One album, but had remained unused.

Enough with the background and onto the meat and two veg. From start to finish the album is quality, Eden showing from the get go that he has a great voice, but a voice that fits completely with the sound the band are putting together, it just fits like the final piece of a jigsaw. Take 'After The Love Has Gone' as an example. Eden sits comfortably in equal mix with the guitars and drums, and the band produce a ass kicking song that rocks completely and unabashedly, and certainly showing a huge 80's sound which is awesome to here.

The album is full of melodies, soaring guitars, for which the band can thank the great performance of Thorsten Koehne (he of Code of Perfection), and slips and slides over the spectrum, like the much heavier "Fly Away" with drums driving your forward like a madman on speed.

Personally though, the band wait till the very end to deliver the biggest surprise and stand our moment of the album as they launch into "We All Die Young" originally from the Rockstar movie starring Mark Wahlberg (which you really should watch if you haven't), performed by the band of the movie Steel Dragon. I always thought it was an amazing song, and really glad to see someone putting this on an album, and doing it so well. Huge kudos.

Given the quality of this debut album, you can help but expect huge things from this talented band in the future, and if you like great rock n roll, then this album is for you.
