Title
Allegory

Canadian metallers Divinity's debut album Allegory is certainly an interesting example of blending styles, as the band experiment with the combination of death, thrash and even some progressive metal elements across the albums ten tracks.

They don't do it badly either. The guitar work here is solid, the aural assault somewhat constant, and the vocals of Sean Jenkis are solid as well.

What I don't like about this CD is the lack of anything really stand out on it. After a couple of listens it's hard to remember much of what you've listened too, there's nothing that leaps out at you going "THIS IS WHO WE ARE!".

Perhaps it's just that this band are experimenting all over the place and don't know who they are? It's certainly going to be interesting to see how they develop and where they end up going in the years to come. For now though this goes in my, not bad but not really standing out pile.

Lineup:

Sean Jenkis - Vocals
Sacha Laskow - Lead Guitar
James Duncan - Guitar
Nick Foster - Bass
Brett Duncan - Drums
