As Above ~ So Below

For their 13th album, Deliverance have apparently taken a "unilateral step forward in the heavy music genre", whatever that means! The hype sounds pretty exciting right? So what's the end result?

I guess that would really depend on what you wanted to get out of this album.

There's comparisons drawn in the press to Slayer, and if they were dead, they'd be turning in their grave at the mention of their name here. This isn't Slayer good, this isn't even in the same ball park as Slayer. This is in fact pretty dull and bland, with nothing really to excite anyone. There's some badly attempted homages to Prog Metal, which sound poor and out of place on the album, and vocally Jimmy Brown sounds extremely poor.

If you wanted a pub band on CD, then you'll love this, otherwise steer well clear. It's just not any good!
