When Anthrax's Scott Ian takes the time to work with a band, you have to at least take note, and here we are with Glasgow's Electro Rockers Darkwater (who are not the same band as the Swedish Prog Metal band of the same name), and their upcoming single '1920'.

Ian mixed the track in LA and commented "I get approached all the time to work with bands and 99% of the time I have to pass because I've heard it all before. Darkwater have a sound wholly there own and that originality is what attracted me to them. And the band just fucking rocks!"

Big compliments indeed, so do they stand up to it?

In a word, or more, it's not bad at all. Very much in the same vein as the recent single from Southampton's Plastic Toys, it has that dirty electro sleazy sound that would makes you week at the knees, and frontwoman Lora floats over the top of it. If Trent Reznor was a girl, and hadn't been so pissed off with the world for the last 20 years, this would be what NIN would have turned out like.

If you like your rock hand in hand with electro sampling your gong to love this.

Oh and did I mention the single comes with a video for the single has frontwoman Lora in a seductive tangle with a bunch of her bad burlesque mates? No? First thing they told me!
