San Diego, CA's Mower has posted the new song “The Party” online at www.MySpace.com/Mower. The track is taken from Mower’s upcoming new album “Make It A Double”, which will hit stores July 28th, 2009 through Suburban Noize Records. "'The Party' is about some of the insane scenes we've encountered playing and partying in Los Angeles over the years," commented Mower frontman Brian Sheerin. "You can get a good feel for L.A. through film, print and music, but when you're there it's even crazier than anyone lets on. People that live there full time aren't even fazed by it anymore, all the madness just becomes scenery. It's an awesome city."
Recorded in Los Angeles, CA with producer Eddie Wohl (Anthrax, Dry Kill Logic, 36 Crazyfists), “Make It A Double” includes nine new Mower tracks that harness the band’s explosive live energy and six songs by Mower's jazz lounge alter-ego, Slower, that experiment with creepy riffs and hazy, mellow tones. The album will feature guest appearances by Rob Caggiano (Anthrax), Mikey Doling (Snot), Roy Mayorga (Stone Sour) and Fernando Apodaca (Mad Juana). Weaving together numerous musical styles from hard rock to jazz, "Make It A Double" unleashes Mower’s heaviest songs to date while experimenting with a new style of punk jazz that plays out like a twisted lounge act in a Tarantino film. One minute the band is coming at listeners, guns blazing and in the next moment they’re sipping martinis in 3-piece suits grooving to an infectious jazz beat.
