redrocksLast year, Kat Ellis held a charity concert in aid of the National Association for Colitis and Crohn's Disease (NACC) in the heart of Central London at the legendary Intrepid Fox, an event that proved hugely successful both in terms of the money, but also in terms of awareness of the disease, and the charity which does so much hard work for those with the disease.

"The response to last years event far exceeded my expectations and therefore I thought it was only right to hold a bigger and better one this time round," explains Ellis on her decision to host the event once again, although this time moving to the heart of Camden, and the equally illustrious Purple Turtle.

Last years event gave people the opportunity to talk about something which she feels can be a "taboo subject", one aptly shown by the emails she received following the event from fellow sufferers of the disease.

"I think people are genuinely interested especially once they hear the way that this condition effects suffers lives," she explains. "The support I have received from most London venues has been fantastic they have offered to advertised free of charge putting up posters and flyers to support the cause!"

This years event is set to be headlined by The Green River Project, who have stepped in at the last minute following a touring commitment for the events previously announced headliners, and are joined on the bill by the fast rising star of London's Imperial Vipers, Australian rockers Shake, and much anticipated debut live performance from Generation Graveyard who feature former members of Nothing To Lose, Ad Alta and Skullspark among their membership.

While the event has drawn together a selection of bands, London's rock DJ's have also pulled together to bring a who's who lineup together which represents illustrious and long running clubs from Decadence, Sin City and Inferno, while also including sets from three members of Generation Graveyard following their performance.

The event itself will also feature poledancers, an "unlucky dip", a raffle, and for those exhibitionists in attendance a wet t-shirt competition.

"It's been a lot easier this year, people have been a lot more willing to donate and give their time to this worth while cause."

And Ellis herself is proud of the events achievements, both looking back on last year and ahead to this years event.

"The feeling is great when it all comes together at the end, and you see what a difference you’ve made to people's opinions. If I've helped one person who suffers from this disease to feel good about themselves and not alone then I have achieved what I set out to do."

Red Rocks takes place on Friday July 3rd from 7.30pm at the Purple Turtle, 61-65 Crowndale Road, Camden. Entry is just £5, with all proceeds going to the NACC.
