Alicia Blü, guitarist for the all-female group Cockpit, will be the special guest on the internationally syndicated Hard Rock Nights from November 6-12. Preparing for an opening slot with the Supersuckers in California, Alicia takes a few minutes to talk about Cockpit’s debut EP, “Mission To Rock,” placement of the band’s music in television shows, and her favorite guitarist, Doug Aldrich.
Cockpit’s press release shows some of the major influences on their style and sound: “Heavy Judas Priest-style guitar riffs? Check. Bass lines stolen from Motörhead and KISS? Check. Fat, punchy AC/DC drums? Check. What more could you ask from a band that promises the return of rock? How about anthem-esque hooks, tasty guitar solos and choruses worthy of an arena? Check, check and most definitely check.”
