acdc-blackice-ltdAccording to reports AC/DC were last years highest selling artist, with the band shifting more than 10 million records throughout the year.

The bands latest album Black Ice which was released on October 20th topped charts in more than 20 countries including the UK, America, Germany and Canada. Reports indicate that the album has now moved over 5 million copies world wide.

But it wasn't just the bands new album that has seen huge sales figures, with figures indicating that their back catalog also shifted more than 5 million units, taking them through the 10 million sales barrier.

AC/DC do not sell any of their music digitally, meaning these figures are even more impressive considering the general downturn in physical CD sales that are constantly reported across world, with piracy blamed in general for the downturn.

AC/DC sold more records in the last year in North America than the Beatles.
