thecure.jpgBillboard reports that after several postponements, the Cure has announced a Sept. 13 street date for its still-untitled 13th studio album and plans to release four singles -- one per month -- starting May 13 in anticipation, according to a post on the band’s Web site.

The four singles, all of which will arrive on the 13th day of the month, will be available in physical and digital formats. Up first is “The Only One,” backed by non-album B-side “NY Trip,” to be followed by “Freakshow”/"All Kinds Of Stuff” on June 13. Details of the final two singles have not yet been made available.

The new album, arriving via Suretone/Geffen, was originally due in early 2007 and then postponed twice, to fall 2007 and spring 2008. It will be the group’s first studio set since its self-titled 2004 effort.
