disarm.jpgSouth Yorkshire’s ferocious hard-driving-young-eight-legged-axe-grinding-rock ‘n’ roll-groove-machine Disarm release their debut album, ‘By Any Means Necessary’, on Imprint Records, distributed by Cargo, on July 21st.

Disarm, who burst out of the small back waters town of Mexborough in 2005, have been virtually constantly on the road around the UK, honing down their infectious, ‘punk metal ‘n’ roll’ sound ever since.

After tours with Dirty Rig, Robin Black, Kitty Hudson and sharing stages with the likes of Bullets and Octane, Trashlight Vision and Towers of London, Disarm have subsequently headlined several UK tours in their own right, steadily building a burgeoning nationwide live following.

Disarm’s disparate influences have merged to forge their own punky, powerhouse sound, mixing elements of rock and metal from across the musical spectrum. Singer / guitarist Brad throws a love of ‘Anything that’s fast as fuck’, into the mix, while guitarist / singer Jamie quotes Classic Rock and Scandinavian punk as influences. Bass player Noddy’s heroes include early Glam bands such as T-Rex and Slade alongside Scandi rock bands like Hanoi Rocks, while drummer Ant is a total Metal Head, into the likes of Slayer et al.

Disarm took time off the road in the Spring of 2007 writing songs for what was to become their debut album ‘By Any Means Necessary’, and demoed 20 tracks before going into Axis Studios in Doncaster with producer/engineer Matt Elliss (G.U. Medicine, Number One Son, Groop Dogdrill, The Glitterati etc).

Brad notes that “Most of the songs we'd written in the few months before we went in to the studio, so we didn't really know what some of them should have 'sounded' like 'cos they were pretty different to the other stuff; some of them were pretty fucking heavy. But we just messed around with Matt, tried different sounds and feels and everything just clicked! Thought it might have been a bit of a nightmare but Matt just got the best out of us, the songs, everything! Top bloke.”
