Century Media Records have revealed that today marks a monumental moment in extreme metal history as SUICIDE SILENCE become one of the most extreme bands to ever debut in the US Billboard Top 200 charts at such a high number entering at #32. This great success comes on the heels of the band’s frontman landing the cover of the North American Revolver Magazine’s September issue, which hits newsstands on July 21st. There will be two different versions available, so head over to http://www.revolvermag.com/node/3367 now to check them out along with an exclusive webisode documenting the band’s recent Tattoo Magazine photo shoot.
This also marks Century Media’s second highest Billboard debut entries of 2009.
There is little doubt in anyone’s minds that SUICIDE SILENCE are the frontrunners of the scene and Mitch Lucker (vocals) further comments: “Well, to wake up this morning and get the news of us debuting at #32 on the Billboard Top 200 charts is mind blowing. We are so proud of No Time To Bleed and feel that we made a definite statement with this effort. This is the culmination of years of relentless touring and hard work. We most of all want to thank you, the fans, for helping us achieve this amazing benchmark and we wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for all of you supporting us.”
On the cover of Revolver: “It’s such an honor to be featured on the cover of Revolver Magazine and I am very humbled by this. Revolver has always embraced us and had our backs. Giving us a chance to perform at the inaugural Golden Gods Awards meant the world to us and it was a huge opportunity to perform in front of a crowd that previously might not have been exposed to us. That night proved to be a stepping stone to many big things as we followed that up with the massive ‘Music As A Weapon’ Fest headlining the second stage and we just wrapped up a very successful Canadian arena tour with Slayer, Megadeth and Machine Head. Revolver Magazine rules and we can’t possibly thank them enough for their overall support of extreme metal giving us this huge exposure to the masses. This is also the perfect way to hype our upcoming Mudvayne tour this summer, which will be the first American tour that we will be selling our new record. So come out and witness the new jams. We promise that it will be a night to remember.”
Revolver also states: “Since they dropped our jaws to the floor with their blistering live performance at last summer’s Mayhem Fest, we’ve been big fans of SUICIDE SILENCE. We were proud to give them the Golden God Award for Best New Talent this April, and now we’re even more proud to give them their first metal magazine cover. If you’re already one of their many fans, you know they deserve it - and if you’re one of the still unconverted, check them out. You won’t regret it.”
The wait is finally over, now let the bloodshedding commence as the leaders of the new wave of American metal, SUICIDE SILENCE, unleash their new unrelenting slab of sheer brutality, “No Time To Bleed”. This album is destined to redefine the genre with its uncompromising aggression and disregard for conventionality. The disc’s opening cut “Wake Up” says it all, so wake the fuck up and go buy this album and realize just exactly what all of the hype is about.
Having just finished an North Amercian & Canadian Arena tour with Megadeth, Slayer and Machine Head, the band are gearing up to perform on the massive ‘Pedal To The Metal’ US tour along side Mudvayne, Black Label Society, and Bury Your Dead and others.
SUICIDE SILENCE will be heading back to Europe in October to tour with Devil Driver & Behemoth in the UK and with CM label mates Caliban on mainland Europe.
