What a ridiculously brilliant festival!
I arrived at Pontin's, Prestatyn with my trusty chauffer and literally went straight into a string of interviews with New Device (and learnt why you shouldnt drink, do drugs and smoke), Raw Glory (who had Suzy from Big Brother 2006? in tow as part of their glamorous? entourage) and a few other bands before heading out to watch G.M.T ...
G.M.T. now that is what you call a rock 'n fucking roll band! I had told my two fellow HRH's that Robin Guy was one of the best drummers in the world - they ofcourse didnt believe me until they were subjected to his ridiculously amazing behaviour behind a drum kit!
Roll on to Friday morning and I'm feeling very fragile with only 3 hours sleep and rather proud of myself for only booking further interviews on Saturday! I normally work 24/7 at a festival so thought that I would pace myself in the interview stakes and enjoy the North Welian hospitality for once! I was booked to DJ from 6pm on the Second Stage so knew that I could have a couple of drinks and watch a couple of bands .... in this job, always expect the unexpected! Between Mike (the boss) and Krissy (the boss's boss!!) they handed over a swanky camera and told me to go and shoot bands. Here's the thing though, if anyone knows me, they know I'm dangerous with a pair of shoelaces! 10 bands in and I've certainly got a new love!
I got to shoot some of my favourite bands including Monster Magnet, New York Dolls, Tigertailz and The Quireboys to name but a few. Im just a ridiculous photographer now, in my own mind ... the proof will be found out in a few days when the pictures go live so for now, I live in my photographers dream world.
Saturday rolls around and I stumble into our chalet's lounge with Mike saying to me, "Do you want to interview Queensryche?" What kind of a fucking question is that to wake up to? I mean, who the hell is Queensryche when theyre at home? Would I? Erm, Yes? Is that the right answer? It's a bloody ridiculous question if ever I heard one! Of Course I would! Much banter is carrying on over this pending interview and the rest of the Komodo Staff, Stu and Alec have realised that the word I say the most in my vocabulary is 'RIDICULOUS' so Krissy decides that I would say my much pronounced word 10 times in Geoff Tate's interview ... you MUST read the interview when it goes live to note that I only said it once, at the beginning of the interview and only in jest ... enough of that for now though but you really dont want to miss what I said to him - it is most certainly the most ridiculous thing that I have ever said in my life though!
Another few interviews are held in the press room with various other bands and I'm back off with the camera to shoot more bands and have more free booze in the Media / Artist tent. It was great to see so many London Locals their too - Home from Home via Wales!
To sum up briefly, HRH 3 was ridiculously amazing and I look forward to being at HRH 4 and on the road trip when HRH goes to Ibiza!

We now have the pleasure of announcing our next two bands
It's been 30 years now since two iconic albums were released by the early Iron Maiden, namely Killers and the signature album Iron Maiden. Recently we had an idea and approached the original singer, who's now touring extensively all over North and South America with various projects.
The result is a UK exclusive with an unbelievable one off exclusive performance and something that may not ever be repeated in this manner again. Courtesy of Metal Aid and HRH, we welcome the return of Paul Di'Anno to the UK shores, who will perform the majority of both albums live and exclusively for the HRH loyal.
This will be 70 minutes of killer tracks and something we are very happy to be experiencing at HRH IV.
Another ex Maiden Hero who's certainly making his mark with his current solo project, will also grace the same stage on the same night.
