 Die So Fluid have checked in with an update from Las Vegas as the band begin their slot supporting Mindless Self Indulgence.
Vocalist Grog writes "We arrived Thursday night without a hitch , apart from me fearing for my soul (my shoe fell apart in the airport). After a madcap escapade to collect a drum kit for Al we set off from Pheonix on the road to Las Vegas, with a luxury stop off at TM Katy's folks' farm. Pancakes and a good ol'cowboy singalong round the piano set us up nicely for the road.
We're travelling in an RV towing a trailer, plus afew gates, fences and livestock we happened to pick up along the highway. This DSF fun- house on wheels takes a some manouvering! We hooked up with the rest of our crew Danny and Julian at the first show of the tour supporting Mindless Self Indulgence. It was a riot. We went down incredibly well with the MSI crowd and the signing session at the merch table was chaos. Caught MSI's show too which is one of the most entertaining I've witnessed, Jimmy Urine is genius and they got a fan dressed as a chicken up on stage. Rad.
People said the coolest things about our performance, …you name it, we signed it , bottles, fag packets, purses, phones, tickets.. we left surrounded in a post show lovathon afterglow that carried us all the way through the surreal neon lit streets filled with visitors who never sleep, endless karaoke soundtrack, pyramids, sphynxs and Hells's Angels to our casino hotel rooms. They pump extra oxygen into the casinos to keep you awake, it sure worked on.Al and Katy who, filled with the spirit of adventure(dirty stop outs) managed to visit Paris and Venice in one night . I saw photos! It's true!~The Eiffel tower never looked so good.
The following day was San Diego, another House of Blues show, their venues always have cool décor and really great sounding rooms. We had a special guest ,the lovely Chriskers from My Ruin and it was amazing to catch up with him after our tour with MR earlier this year. We didn't arm wrestle this time but I have plans…Al's hand was giving him a bit of trouble after the vicious dog bite he recently received but he was a total soldier and we stormed another set. Apparently the locals say this is a pretty 'elitist' audience to please and they took a bit more warming up but we soon made a connection and had a violent mosh going strong. Wierdly it occurred in exactly the same crowd position as the night before,(facing the crowd right of centre, afew rows back) I'm wondering if there's somethin scientific goin on here?? We'll find out tonight I guess!
