Hall of Metal recently spoke with guitar virtuoso Yngwie Malmsteen about his upcoming album Perpetual Flame and his new Fender Signature Guitar.
Several excerpts from the interview are included below.
Q: Perpetual Flame is the first release of your brand new record
company Rising Force Records. Tell us a bit about how the idea of
creating a label came up and what future plans you have for it. Have
you got any interesting bands? Will you concentrate on new bands or
there will be a place for classical ones?
A: "The way the music industry has changed lately this is the
logical step forward. Rising Force records started by April Malmsteen
my manager and wife to release and promote new and old releases. As
time moves on Rising Force Records will be looking at other
artist/bands as well."
Q: Very soon you will be included in the Hollywood's RockWalk. How do you feel for this recognition?
A: "It is very honouring and humbling!! But, honestly I have not had time to reflect on it yet."
Q: In November, a new design of your Fender Signature Yngwie
Malmsteen will come out. There will be only 100 copies, what can you
tell us about it?
A: "It is an incredible honour that they will replicate the very
guitar that I took with me when I came to America. It is so exact I
cannot tell the difference from a guitar that I have owned for thirty
years. Those guys are geniuses."
