Rock Revolution is being developed by Zoe Mode and HB Studios and
published by Konami, as their answer to Guitar Hero and Rock Band.
Konami is the originator of the music rhythm genre with games like
GuitarFreaks, BeatMania and DrumMania that were big hits overseas in
Japan.
Konami finally did breakout and is considered the ones to
popularize the genre with their Dance Dance Revolution and Karaoke
Revolution (which incidentally was developed by Harmonix for the U.S.
version) games in America. Now with Rock Band and Guitar Hero raising
the stakes once more, Konami has seen fit to jump back in with a "Band
Game" of it's own.
Rock Revolution includes guitar and drum peripherals on the
Xbox 360 & PS3, while the Wii version uses the Wii Remote &
Nunchuck for an "air guitar and drum" experience and the DS uses the
stylus and DS Microphone for singing (console versions don't have
singing). You can create your own tracks (like in Guitar Hero World
Tour) and also experiment with each individual instrument. Be sure to
check our PS3 and Xbox 360 music game instruments compatibility list
for Rock Band 2, Guitar Hero: World Tour, and Rock Revolution.
