terror_syndrome.jpgTerror Syndrome drummer Ryan van Poederooyen (The Devin Townsend Band) has issued the following update:

"Here's another instrumental song off of the debut Terror Syndrome album. This song is called 'Rusty Trombone' and features guest appearances by Alex Skolnick (TESTAMENT) and Trevor Dunn (MR. BUNGLE, FANTOMAS). This is another instrumental song I wrote with Dave Young. The song itself is twisted and progressive with a tinge of heaviness. I didn't want to write an album that was straight out metal the whole way through. I wanted an album that had diversity and some cool musicianship with great players. 'Rusty Trombone' delivers in every way! Alex Skolnick and Trevor Dunn are un-fucking-believable on this song. Trevor's Bass playing is exactly what I pictured it to be... ultra creative, tasteful and plainly awesome!!!! This song was written with Trevor in mind. He informed me that he used his Alembic 5 String Bass from his Mr. Bungle days when he recorded his part, which I thought was pretty fucking cool. Alex Skolnick's guest appearance is completely sick as well. The mid guitar solo section was written heavier for Alex, so he could shred his metal roots and the very end of the song Alex contributes an awesome Bebop Jazz Solo..... yes Jazz solo!!! Alex has been playing Jazz for many, many years and I wanted him to show off his Jazz side in the same song. Like I said this song is twisted. Overall 'Rusty Trombone' delivered in every way I pictured it to. It's diverse, twisted, creative and tasteful with some heaviness. I hope you all dig it as much as I do. Thanks again to Alex and Trevor for their amazing contributions. Lastly, thanks to all you Terror Syndrome fans for the support. Our album has been out digitally since July 10th on iTunes and other various digital distribution companies. You're support has been awesome and we really appreciate it and love every single one of you Terrorizers!!! More announcements to come soon, including our first live date.... yes, Terror Syndrome live!!!! Stay posted and keep spreading the terror!"
