Satellite Party main man and former Janes Addictions Perry Farrell has issued an update on the bands current state including replacements for Nuno Bettencourt who as reported yesterday has left the band.
"I am in San Clemente today. We are working on our live set mix at Sounden
Studios. We are about to go further and deeper. I have been greatly inspired
in assembling the Satellite Party's American Tour. As is the case with all
launched projectiles, parts fall off the back as the rocket climbs
toward heaven. In stage 2 Nuno and Kevin have disengaged.
Our new members
are Nick Perri, and Jordan Plosky.
Carl had told me about a young guitarist he jammed with at the
"Dimebag" Darrel Abbot Benefit. He was an exceptional young player who was an
amazing performer. He came in for his audition, and plugged strait in to
the amp. The room was struck by a bolt of lightning. He caused a frenzy.
Jordan was on drums. Carl on bass, Etty was singing. We held the rehearsal
at the Paul Green School of Rock in Hollywood. Jordan is a great modern
drummer. His style is perfectly suited for what we are up to. I went home
that night and slept soundly. Also joining us on tour is a great young
producer Cole Gion. He'll be playing synth and freaking out programs. We
are going deeper -into the back catalogs. We are prepping for Satellite
Party numbers, as well as Jane's, Porno, and Song Yet To Be Sung tracks. I
feel energized by the prospect of our live sets.
We all paddled out
this morning and caught waves at Sano' - Some of us were catching waves for
the first time in our lives. It's almost as much fun to teach people as it
is to do it yourself. I remember the first time somebody taught me, and the
thrill of my first catch. Today we are all full of sun, waves, and music.
Tomorrow we head back home for big room rehearsals. USA-
We're coming-
from far and wide; singing a song to you"
