led_zeppelin.jpgThe Enterprise Record reports that "Combining the visceral power and intensity of hard rock with the finesse and delicacy of British folk music, Led Zeppelin redefined rock in the Seventies and for all time," states the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Consequently, the band (1968-1980) climbed the stairway to rock 'n' roll heaven earning an immortal spot in the iconic musical museum in 1995.

However, one local fan is still "Dazed and Confused" as to why "the greatest heavy band" does not have an immortal star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Rocky Dickerson, 56, of Chico, is fixing to change that.

After attending the Led Zeppelin reunion performance for the Ahmet Ertegün Tribute Concert in London last year, Dickerson returned to California surprised to find the VH1's No. 1 ranked "100 Greatest Artist's of Hard Rock" had no Hollywood star.

Now, Dickerson is rallying fans behind his star campaign.

"I'm trying to make this a totally fan-driven thing. I don't want anything from any corporate entity, or anything from Led Zeppelin. I want this to be a small thing that we, the fans, can give back to Led Zeppelin after 40 years of great music," Dickerson said.

Dickerson is in the process of requesting written approval from Led Zeppelin members and management to proceed with the Hollywood nomination. If approval is granted, the next step is to raise $25,000 for the creation and installation of the star, as well as maintenance of the Walk of Fame.
