ironmaiden.jpgPR Inside reports that IRON MAIDEN star ADRIAN SMITH has become the latest rock victim of theft after his brand new Jackson guitar was stolen after the British group's Athens, Greece gig on Saturday night (02Aug08).

The guitarist is confident the instrument will be found quickly - because it's a one-of-a-kind, made specifically for him.

Iron Maiden are offering a tour jacket and a handwritten thankyou note from Smith for information that leads to the recovery of his guitar.

Smith's theft is the second reported today following the earlier announcement from Iggy and the Stooges. Gig Wise released updates on this story, announcing that a rented tour truck containing the gear was parked outside the Embassy Suites and is believed to have been stolen between approximately 6:30 and 7:30 AM on Monday, August 4.

A list of all the stolen gear has been posted on bassist Mike Watt’s blog.

Speaking about the gear, tour manager Eric Fischer stated, “I don’t know if it’s a syndicate that’s targeting bands on the road, or what,…But nobody ever seems to see this gear again.”

Fischer has asked that anyone with information about the theft please contact hi via email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

The band will play their scheduled gig tonight in Toronto with both rented and donated equipment.

Initial details of the theft can be found here.
