WENN reports that the stolen van belonging to punk icons Iggy Pop & The Stooges has been recovered - but the band's equipment has yet to be found.
The truck - containing the group's gear - was stolen outside their hotel after a concert in Montreal, Canada on Monday. And Canadian police have confirmed the vehicle has now been found abandoned a short distance from the place where it was stolen. But there is no sign of any of the items which were stored inside.
The rockers have launched a new website appealing for help in tracking down the missing equipment.
After the initial reports of the theft additional details were reported by Gig Wise.
A rented tour truck containing the gear was
parked outside the Embassy Suites and is believed to have been stolen
between approximately 6:30 and 7:30 AM on Monday, August 4.
A list of all the stolen gear has been posted on bassist Mike Watt’s blog.
Speaking about the gear, tour manager Eric Fischer stated, “I don’t
know if it’s a syndicate that’s targeting bands on the road, or
what,…But nobody ever seems to see this gear again.”
Fischer has asked that anyone with information about the theft please contact hi via email at
