The BBC reports that a man accused of illegally streaming unreleased Guns N' Roses songs on his website has been bailed after a court appearance in Los Angeles.

Kevin Cogill, 27, was arrested on suspicion of violating copyright laws after allegedly putting nine tracks online in June.

Prosecutors said the leaks could lead to "significant" financial loss for the rock band.

Mr Cogill is due to appear in court again on 17 September.

No restrictions on his internet use were imposed during the court hearing, which resulted in his release on bail of $10,000 (£5,450).

According to arrest papers, Mr Cogill admitted to having posted the songs, which were later removed from his website Antiquiet following intervention from the band.

Larry Solters, a spokesman for Guns N' Roses, said the band "had been made aware of the arrest and are leaving the matter to the authorities".
