Bryan Ferry has been honoured for his songwriting skills at the BMI Awards reports Digital Spy.
The former Roxy Music singer joins stars including Ray Davies, Peter Gabriel and Van Morrison in picking up the BMI Icon gong.
The
award, which celebrates artists who have had "a unique and indelible
influence" on music, was presented at a ceremony in London on Tuesday.
BMI
president and CEO Del Bryant called Ferry "the epitome of Britishness
and the ultimate combination of rock god and matinee idol".
Ferry
said: "I'm very honoured to be part of your tradition of music because
there are so many artists you have represented who are great idols for
me throughout my career."
