Bobby Capps, who has been the keyboardist for .38 Special for the past 20 years (and will continue in that role), has joined Rock Ridge Music as A&R Consultant/Staff Producer. Says Capps about the new position: "Finally, a label got it right! As the ongoing struggle in the industry today deepens, Rock Ridge's vision for the future is something I can't wait to sink my teeth into. We share a lot of the same beliefs, especially in the digital aspects of modern production, marketing, and sales of music. I'm excited to be a part of Rock Ridge Music!"
Capps came to the attention of
Rock Ridge via a music industry pal, Chris Henderson of 3 Doors Down (who is a
principal at Rock Ridge Music). Says Henderson about the opportunity to
work with Capps at the label: “Bobby is one of the nicest guys
I’ve met in my entire life. And he’s one of the most
driven. We also run a studio together, and I’m excited to share
this new opportunity with him.”
In addition to .38 Special, Capps has also toured and played
keyboards for The Johnny Van Zant Band and country's duo VANZANT,
while continuing to compose and front his own band, Down Time. Bobby was also
involved in a side project with Ean Evans (bassist for Lynyrd Skynyrd), EVANSCAPPS.
Bobby provides the lead vocals with Evans on guitar on the CD "Last
Time."
