As reported recently, the promoters of the NWOBHM Festivals in Greece have cancelled both of the upcoming dates, which were set to feature The Tygers of Pan Tang and Tokyo Blade, and have reportedly closed down all business operations.

The Tygers of Pan Tang commenting on the situation said "For our fans in Greece it is with real regret that the forthcoming NWOBHM show in Athens at the AN Club on the 16th February is now cancelled. The promoter has lost a considerable amount of money on some previous events and decided to cancel all future shows planned. We will endeavour to work with other promoters in Europe and hopefully we can get to Greece at some point in 2008. We would ask all our fans to send emails and pressure any and all festival organisers to include the Tygers on the bill and we promise the first offer we receive we will be over there to play for you all.

"We would like to apologies for this news, we know there will be some disappointed fans in Greece."

Sold Out Promotions Live The Live Experience had previously said "Due to the outcome of the Deutsche Assault Festival that took place on January 12th in Athens, Sold Out Promotion Live The Live Experience is sad to announce that all upcoming shows are cancelled, and the company closes down.

"The company's philosophy to bring underground bands in Greece and at the same time trying to maintain a low ticket so that all fans can enjoy the shows wasn't appreciated by fans and the people coming in the festival made the company suffer a great economic loss. Under these conditions we feel that continuing in such a manner would be pointless and non viable.

"We are sorry it had to come to this but numbers don't lie. We would like to apologize to the bands that we have already booked and will keep supporting their work in whatever they do and would like to thank all the fans that attended our shows."

The following shows have been cancelled:

* Feb. 16 - NWOBHM Festival I @ An Club, Athens (w/ TYGERS OF PAN TANG, CLOVEN HOOF, JAGUAR, ELIXIR)
* May 10 - SIRENIA, BARE INFINITY @ An Club, Athens
* Nov. 08 - NWOBHM Festival II (w/ TOKYO BLADE, STEVE GRIMMET'S GRIM REAPER, WITCHFYDE)
